Started training here 7 months ago and have never looked back. Came from a year of F45 classes which I thought were quite good but this is on another level. F45 classes are rushed and you don’t learn much about technique. At Groundwork your first class feels like a one on one PT session as Matt, Katherine and Tim give you so much attention and advice…I now understand the importance of mobility and feel comfortable lifting heavier weights in their presence. The classes are well planned and there’s always something new to learn, whether it’s a hand stand or a back squat. I couldn’t recommend this place much more. I started here as it was by my work, but even after a change in job I went out of my way to commute via the gym. That’s how good it is.

Q - I am new to training. Can I do your classes?

A - The simple answer is… yes. I have had countless emails saying I will come down when I feel ‘a bit fitter’ but the truth is, there is no time like the present to start something. If you have zero background in training, we heavily suggest taking on the 5 pack of Personal Training so you get an understanding for the basic movements and an idea of how you can regress the exercises yourself in a group environment. 10 press ups to one person may be nothing but it could be a far off dream for others - understanding how you can perform your regressed version to improve the movement, build strength in the position and eventually approach full press ups is the goal and that can be done in a group environment. We have people who deadlift 200kg plus and others who are brand new. The skill is the same. It is good for people new to training to see what is physically possible so I’m a massive advocate of people training together as we all learn from each other in a non judgemental community.

Q - Do you have shower facilities

A- Yes, we have two showers available at unit 4 and one shower at unit 5 Bloc Riverbank. We supply shower gel, just bring a towel!

Ask more questions and we will put them up
